Community Outreach

Dr. Komarnyckyj and his staff have selected Montecito Elementary School for an annual community outreach programDental Implants & Periodontology of Arizona is located in the heart of central Phoenix and as part of this neighborhood, Dr. Komarnyckyj and his staff have selected Montecito Elementary School for an annual community outreach program.

Each year at Christmas, the staff takes the opportunity to reach out to a kindergarten or first grade class at the school. For many of these students, Christmas is only a dream because their families are financially struggling to provide for even their daily needs.

Our annual visit is a chance to bring along a donated gift for each child, spend time with the class, and celebrate with a pizza party. Of course, we certainly use this opportunity to help educate the youngsters about the importance of dental hygiene as well!

This visit is often a highlight of the Christmas season for most of these underprivileged children. The success of this outreach is due in large part to the generosity of our patients and the dental offices we work with throughout the year. We appreciate these contributions that allow us to continue this annual tradition. Anyone who would like to join in this event may do so by contacting our office in the month of November for more details.

The staff at Dental Implants and Periodontology of Arizona share Dr. Komarnyckyj's commitment to oral health and volunteer regularly each year throughout the community and in professional organizations.

Laura Corbin, RDH is currently volunteering as an officer with the Arizona State Dental Hygienists' Association.  ASDHA is a professional association of Registered Dental Hygienists working to increase access to oral health care for all residents of Arizona.

Both Laura and Beryl Creal, CDA, donate their time and expertise to Give Kids a Smile.  This ongoing event sponsored by the Arizona Dental Foundation provides free oral wellness coaching, dental cleanings, fluoride treatments, and other dental treatment to children who otherwise would not receive dental care.

Partnering with other local professional organizations, Laura and Beryl have also presented oral hygiene instruction to local school children such as Villa Montessori, Asian refugee groups, and others.
